The severe weather threat for Tornado Watch 578, 579, 580 continues.

SUMMARY...A severe threat will likely continue into the overnight
period, from parts of northwest Texas northward into western
Oklahoma and southern Kansas. Wind damage, isolated large hail and a
tornado threat are expected.

DISCUSSION...Several organized line segments are ongoing along the
northwestern edge of the moist sector, located from northwest Texas
northward into the far eastern Texas Panhandle and south-central
Kansas. This corridor is located to the east of a dryline, where
low-level convergence is maximized. This, combined with a
strengthening low-level jet and increasing large-scale ascent, will
continue to support the development of a squall line over the next
few hours. This line will become more organized, as it moves toward
the moist axis in western Oklahoma, where surface dewpoints are in
the mid 50s to near 60 F. Strong deep-layer shear associated with
the exit region of a mid-level jet, will be favorable for severe
storms. Wind damage will be possible with bowing segments along the
leading edge of the line. And a tornado threat along with isolated
large hail, could occur with the more intense rotating cells within
the line.
