Severe storms are not expected through tonight. ....Synopsis... A deep midlevel trough will move inland over CA to the lower CO River Valley by the end of the period. Cold midlevel temperatures and associated steep lapse rates will contribute to weak buoyancy and the potential for isolated, low-topped thunderstorms across coastal CA/Central Valley into NV. Farther downstream, a weak shortwave trough will continue eastward over the Gulf Coast states, with an associated threat for thunderstorms today along a slow-moving cold front from southeast TX eastward to MS. Severe storms are not expected today as forcing for ascent and vertical shear weaken during the day along the Gulf Coast, and buoyancy remains weak across CA. ...Thompson/Leitman.. 12/11/2022 $$ = = = To unsubscribe from WX-STORM and you already have a login, go to https://lists.illinois.edu and use the "Unsubscribe" link.
