The severe-thunderstorm threat is expected to be low through the remainder of this afternoon into tonight. ....Florida... Severe probabilities have been removed at 20Z, with the remaining convection across the northern FL Peninsula expected to continue weakening with time this afternoon. ....Mid Atlantic into New England... A weakly organized and low-topped frontal band has moved across parts of the Mid Atlantic into PA/NY this afternoon, with gusty winds reported along and behind the band. A somewhat more organized frontal band may develop by early evening across parts of New England, as the front encounters slightly better low-level moisture. This would likely be accompanied by gusty winds given the strong low-level flow, but weak low-level lapse rates and negligible buoyancy are still expected to generally temper the convective enhancement to ambient winds, so no severe wind probabilities have been introduced at this time. ...Dean.. 11/30/2022 ..PREV DISCUSSION... /ISSUED 1019 AM CST Wed Nov 30 2022/ ....Synopsis... A broad mid-level trough is centered over the northern Great Lakes this morning. This feature will continue north and east through the day. At the surface, a cold front continues to move through the Southeast. Some pre-frontal convection continues in far southeast Georgia into north Florida. Convection from the Florida Big Bend into southeast Georgia will have decreasing mid-level support with time as well as encounter more stable air in northern/central Florida. A marginal threat for a damaging wind gust and brief, weak tornado may continue for another hour or two.
