Organized thunderstorms are not expected today. ....Synopsis... A mid-level trough will deepen across the Interior West while a surface low begins to develop across the Plains states today. Very cold mid-level temperatures (-30C to -40C at 500 mb) will overspread portions of the Pacific Northwest into northern parts of the Great Basin through the period. While buoyancy should remain scant across the Interior West, the very cold temperatures aloft may promote a lightning flash or two if any above-freezing parcels can be lifted to their LFC, introducing both liquid and ice species in the cloud-bearing layer. Gulf of Mexico moisture should gradually advect northward in response to surface lee troughing across portions of the Southern Plains into the Lower MS Valley, particularly towards the later half of the period. However, negligible upper support and lack of buoyancy should limit organized thunderstorm potential up to 12Z Tuesday. ...Squitieri/Darrow.. 11/28/2022 $$ = = = To unsubscribe from WX-STORM and you already have a login, go to https://lists.illinois.edu and use the "Unsubscribe" link.
