Isolated thunderstorms will be possible across parts of south Florida, and in parts of the Pacific Northwest this evening into tonight. Thunderstorms are not expected across the remainder of the United States through daybreak Wednesday morning. ....DISCUSSION... The large-scale upper-level pattern features several shortwave troughs over the United States. The first trough is located in the Great Lakes region. A second trough is located in the Pacific Northwest. A third through but very subtle, is moving through the lower Mississippi Valley. At the surface, a moist airmass is in place across the Gulf of Mexico, extending eastward across the Florida Peninsula. Weak instability has developed across the southern and eastern Florida Peninsula, where isolated non-severe thunderstorms could occur this evening into tonight. A few lightning strikes may also occur across the Pacific Northwest.
