Severe thunderstorms are not expected through tonight. ....Synopsis... A broad upper trough will persist from Hudson Bay into the north-central and northeast states, as an embedded shortwave shifts east from the Upper Midwest across the Great Lakes. A shortwave impulse centered on AZ will slowly drift southeast across the state through early Sunday. ....Discussion... A few areas of thunderstorm development will be possible through the period. First, ongoing elevated thunderstorms across south TX, driven by low-level warm theta-e advection, will likely continue this morning before waning this afternoon. Weak moisture return amid an increasingly easterly component to low-level flow may support isolated thunderstorms in far south FL over the Keys and the tip of the peninsula tonight. Lastly, a few lightning flashes may occur in the immediate lee of the Lower Great Lakes where lake-effect snow bands are expected to restrengthen tonight. ...Grams.. 11/19/2022 $$ = = = To unsubscribe from WX-STORM and you already have a login, go to https://lists.illinois.edu and use the "Unsubscribe" link.
