SUMMARY...A snow squall continues to move eastward across
Pennsylvania and is expected to continue for a couple more hours.
Brief but sudden bouts of reduced visibility is the primary threat
with this event.

DISCUSSION...A mature snow squall continues to move eastward across
central into eastern Pennsylvania with a history of gusty winds and
with visibility being reduced to a quarter mile. A subtle surface
lee trough and associated cold front continues to advance eastward
across the Hudson Valley, with deep-layer westerly flow
overspreading the region and supporting snow-squall maintenance.
Furthermore, 8+ C/km low-level lapse rates remain in place across
much of the Northeast, with strong 700 mb cold-air advection
preceding the squall. As such, the steep low-level lapse rates
should persist, contributing to snow squall maintenance. The snow
squall should continue for a couple more hours, promoting brief but
a rapid onset of reduced visibility, perhaps down to a quarter mile
in spots.
