The risk for severe thunderstorms appears negligible across the U.S. Sunday through Sunday night. ....Synopsis... Several upper shortwave troughs embedded within larger-scale troughing across the CONUS and Canada will pivot eastward on Sunday. A closed upper low over the Southwest will migrate toward the southern Rockies. Strong deep-layer southwesterly flow will spread across the Four Corners region while a surface cold front shifts southeast. While this system will likewise bring increasing forcing for ascent, meager boundary-layer and mid-level moisture will limit instability, precluding thunderstorm potential. Another surface cold front will extend from a low offshore the Mid-Atlantic coast into northern FL. The front will sag southward into central FL before becoming more diffuse across south FL. Poor frontal convergence and weak large-scale ascent in conjunction with poor midlevel lapse rates and weak vertical shear will preclude thunderstorm potential ahead of the cold front. ...Leitman.. 11/13/2022 $$ = = = To unsubscribe from WX-STORM and you already have a login, go to https://lists.illinois.edu and use the "Unsubscribe" link.
