A couple brief tornadoes remain possible from far eastern Georgia into parts of the Carolinas. Marginally severe hail may occur late tonight into Friday morning over parts of southwest Texas. ....GA/SC/NC... Strong low-level shear and moistening low levels to the right of the track of TC Nicole will continue to favor low-topped convection with the potential for brief tornadoes within the stronger convective bands. The most favorable areas will be from the GA/SC border this evening northeastward into southern NC tonight as dewpoints rise into the lower 70s F. The 00Z CHS sounding shows minimal SBCAPE with a 70 F dewpoint, suggesting higher values may be required for a tornado risk. ....Southwestern TX... A cold front will surge south across TX tonight with cooling aloft with the approaching upper trough. This front may focus storm development after 09Z Friday morning as low 60s F dewpoints get undercut. Forecast soundings show lengthy, straight hodographs and cool temperatures which could favor elevated storms producing marginally severe hail. ...Jewell.. 11/11/2022 $$ = = = To unsubscribe from WX-STORM and you already have a login, go to https://lists.illinois.edu and use the "Unsubscribe" link.
