My AmigaNet nodelist hatch script does something like:

NEXTFRIDAYNR=$(date --date=friday +"%j")
echo Hatching AmyList for day number: ${NEXTFRIDAYNR}
htick hatch .../AmyList.l${NEXTFRIDAYNR:1} ...
