I use the Husky config, and I have a <name> area.
It seems that gossiped does not ignore comments starting with #

fido@vserv:/usr/local/etc/fido$ fgrep "<name>" *
areas:# *Area <name> <file> [Options]
areas:# EchoArea <name> <file> [Options] [linkAKAs] [linkOptions]
