It is not Golded, Golded should be configured to do no translation at all. It is your terminal that is configured for ISO-8859-1 (Latin1) instead of UTF-8. Force it to UTF-8. In hexmode I can see that it s encoded as D5 8D. Somewher in the chain the 8D (Soft Return) is removed. What remains is a not well formed UTF-8 sequence.
