Subj : UTF-8 nodelist report To : Eugene Subbotin From : Michiel van der Vlist Date : Thu Sep 29 2016 21:26:15 Hello Eugene, On Wednesday September 28 2016 03:45, you wrote to me: MvdV>> CHKWF8 1.0 beta 20160402 UTF-8 well formed sequence test. MakeNL stucks with UTF :( As Andrew already mentioned you need a version of makenl that supports the ALLOW8BIT option. Version 3.4.5 does the trick. What you also need - but you probably already guessed that - is a UTF-8 capable editor. Just like you need an ASCII editor to make the "source" for the regular ASCII nodelist. Good old Notepad can do UTF-8 but it has the nasty habit of adding a BOM at the start of the file. MakeNl is not (yet) capable of removing that. My personal preference is vi. The Windows version is available here: http://www.winvi.de/en/download.html An alternative is the popular nano editor for linuux. A windows version is available but I have never tried it out. So how about participating in the UFT nodelist project? I'd love to see a DAILYUTF with Евгений Субботин (is that spelled correctly?) in the field for the sysop name and Тольятти in the location field.
