	Well, according to current canon, the new movies' universe is called the 
"Prime Universe", due to the fact that when Spock's ship crossed that tear in 
space, it got transported to a parallel universe indeed, and the romulan ship 
altered the entire timeline by destroying Dad Kirk's ship. 

	I don't know about you, but I cried when they destroyed Vulcan.

	There has been many requests about it, especially by William Shatner, who has 
been very interested into coming back, despite complaints from the writers, who 
always whine that they can't "shove him in".
