Thanks, Wouter, I asked a self-proclaimed local Star Trek "expert" I know who was on the sidewalk downtown and he agrees with you on that, and went on to state that there never was a mention of the whales plotline in any of the other spin off series, and stated it like a fact so I reckon that's settled. Thanks for the info on the novel, although as far as I know none of those are ever considered canon by a Gene Roddenberry decree? Or are such decrees out the window in this J.J.
