 I watched an episode of SNW and at the end though "that's the best hour
 of Trek I've ever seen!"

Not to rub it in, but a new show written by fans of the old show is
quite a thing.

 None of them require a contract. I like the idea of picking a streaming
 service for a couple of months and switching opportunistically when a
 new show comes along.
