I learned one thing this week:  people matter more than anything else.

I was reminded of that scene where Kirk grabs Lt. Palamas' hand in Who 
Mourns For Adonais?  where he reminds her, with his hand in hers, that 
her first and most important loyalty is to her fellow human beings.
