I think you have it backwards. First, birth control is cheaper for the insurance company than maternity coverage (If you're beyond child bearing age,why do you pay for that? For that matter, why don't people who use the roads more often pay more, and those that use, pay less? How about the fire dept., and the library? We live in a community. The community needs to be maintained, because it is good for all of us. As far as the economy, politicians haven't fixed the deregulations (look up Brooksley Born, and Glass Steagall) that got us into the economic mess in which we find ourselves now. Wall Street used $1.4 trillion in bad mortgages to finance a Ponzi scheme, that our government has committed $9 trillion to cover.
