What I was asking was were you using a user editor (e.g. ;uedit sysop command) or the just the user menu option or maybe a sysop user editor utilty (e.g. exec/uedit) to change those settings. But no matter, I discovered that I could reproduce it with the default user config menu option, so fix forthcoming.

Thanks for your patience and bug report (for ignoring the noise from others offering their unhelpful input).
