Subj : INQUIRY To : ARDITH HINTON From : Daryl Stout Date : Mon Apr 23 2018 19:58:00 Ardith, AH>I can relate. Dallas & I have been so busy with taking care of our AH>daughter that we don't answer as often as we'd like to. We do appreciate th AH>input we get from readers like you who seem to keep coming back, though. :- A long time ago, there was an "Ask A Nurse" echo on the FIDONet backbone. That would have been the perfect place for it. AH>For various reasons, I also split long messages. Same here...some BBS software will allow long messages, and others cap them at as little as 99 lines (GT Power did that...Virtual Advanced (VADV32) has a max at 250. AH>In this particular echo I think it would be "overkill" to post more AH>than one or two such articles each month. Although we could use more traffi AH>here & they may interest many of our readers, I wouldn't want to see message AH>overlooked amid a slew of material written by third parties.... :-Q OK, I won't worry about it then. AH>DS> I did the research off of the WebMD website AH>DS> (http://www.webmd.com), on various topics for AH>DS> several topics for both males and females, AH>Sounds like a reputable source, which is always a concern in echoes AH>like this one, and I like the idea of including both males & females. :-) When I have medical questions now, I go there. That's why I set up the appointment with my PCP in the morning. AH>Are there any copyright restrictions on the material, BTW? I think AH>that's something we need to be careful about... particularly if you intend t AH>post entire articles from this site. Some people get around such problems b AH>quoting a few brief excerpts & saying "You can read the rest at [blah blah]. I would've treated it like when doing a term paper, giving credit where credit was due. In the local message area, I noted that the data came from WebMD. AH>DS> Breast Problems (both men and women can get breast cancer) AH>I knew that... but a lot of others don't. People need to know it's AH>not just elderly, overweight men who have heart attacks or sleep apnea & it' AH>not just large-breasted middle-aged women who have breast cancer. Spread th AH>word, my friend... just do it gradually enough that even I can keep up. :-) So many hate to go to the doctor...never mind not wanting them to see them naked, or know about their health habits. But, if you don't have your health, you have nothing. As noted, I'm going to see my PCP in the morning...and get a referral to an ENT doctor and a cardiologist...although that's not the person who brings the "get well cards". I just want to be sure the "ticker" is working OK. I was awakened in the night with severe pain on the left side...which thankfully subsided. I don't know if it was a kidney stone attack or what. I just got off the phone with a Christian lady I know from Facebook...I've never met her in person. Her neighbor just committed suicide, and she's just devastated. So, I'm the shoulder to cry on right now. Daryl === þ OLX 1.53 þ 100% of people who breathe, die. --- SBBSecho 3.04-Win32 * Origin: FIDONet: The Thunderbolt BBS - wx1der.dyndns.org (1:19/33) .
