Subj : Overheard in Another Echo To : Daryl Stout From : Ardith Hinton Date : Mon Mar 05 2018 22:50:13 Hi, Daryl! Recently you wrote in a message to ARDITH HINTON: AH> I gather you've been having one of those weeks... AH> as have we. I notice also that Mark Lewis has AH> stepped in to offer help. Then we had another of those weeks, and once again Mark Lewis stepped in to offer help. (Thankyou, Mark!) Is that "history repeating itself"?? :-Q DS> I saw a whole slew of messages from you in my packet, DS> and am just now getting to them. Bless your heart... it looks as if you answered all of them too. :-) DS> I'm normally not up at this hour, but during nightly DS> maintenance, one of the routines was making a screeching DS> audio sound (I'm glad the headset mic was hooked up for DS> the speakers)...and it woke me. But, I did a few tweaks, DS> and was able to stop it, without having to reboot the DS> system. After which you were thoroughly awake & needed to work off the excess adrenaline, I suppose. Glad I was able to help... [chuckle]. AH> While I could go on at length, I want [to] ensure this AH> message actually arrived somewhere before commenting AH> further. DS> Yeah, it got here OK. I remember the occasion. It was also a comedy of errors. Just after I'd posted in the E_T echo, our mail machine crashed in a spectacular way which took quite some time to fix. Later on I tried to contact Janis's BBS, using my own computer, to find out if she got my post... but her system didn't appear to recognize my password. Reposting was the quickest & easiest remedy there. :-) DS> I was just surprised to see a bunch of messages from DS> you in my packet. I'd say they were old messages... but since you've just written +/-30 more recent replies, I'll have an abundance of new material to work with. :-)) --- timEd/386 1.10.y2k+ * Origin: Wits' End, Vancouver CANADA (1:153/716) .
