Subj : Bh&G 3556 To : All From : Dave Drum Date : Sat Aug 07 2021 20:34:30 MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06 Title: Upside-Down Pizza Skillet Casserole Categories: Pasta, Breads, Beef, Pork, Vegetables Yield: 6 Servings Nonstick spray 1 lb Ground beef 8 oz Bulk Italian sausage 1/2 ts Dried oregano; crushed 1/4 ts Fennel seeds; crushed 2 c Sliced fresh mushrooms 4 oz Can sliced black olives; - drained 1/2 c Chopped onion 15 oz Can pizza sauce 1/2 c Water 1/4 ts Salt 3 oz Italian bread; in 1/2" cubes - toasted 3/4 c Shredded mozzarella Grated Parmesan cheese Dried oregano; crushed Crushed red pepper Coat a large skillet with cooking spray; heat skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef, turkey sausage, oregano, and fennel seeds. Cook until meat is browned. Add the mushrooms, black olives, and onion. Cook 5 to 7 minutes more or until vegetables are tender. Stir in pizza sauce, water, and salt. Reduce heat to medium. Top meat mixture with bread cubes and sprinkle with cheese. Cook, covered, about 3 minutes more or until cheese is melted. If desired, top with grated Parmesan, additional oregano, and/or crushed red pepper. TIP: To toast bread cubes, Set oven @ 350 degrees F. Spread bread cubes in an even layer in a shallow baking pan. Bake 10 to 15 minutes or until lightly golden and crisp, stirring twice. Let cool.
