Subj : St. Martha 08 To : All From : Dave Drum Date : Wed Jul 28 2021 19:42:28 MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06 Title: Petone Martha's Date Scone Categories: Fruits, Breads, Dairy, Snacks Yield: 12 Servings 12 oz Dates; pitted, rough - chopped 1 c Boiling water 1 c Cream 2 tb Honey 2 lg Eggs; lightly whisked 1/2 ts Vanilla extract 4 c Self-rising flour Set oven to 350ºF/175ºC. Line a baking tray with parchment. Soak dates in boiling water for 15 minutes or until soft, drain and discard water. Heat cream and honey to lukewarm. Add eggs and vanilla extract and whisk for 1-2 minutes until well combined and slightly frothy. Whisk flour into large bowl. Add dates to flour and toss until lightly covered. Add cream mixture and very gently combine. Turn out onto floured surface and pat out to 1-inch thickness. Cut to desired shape. Bake for 12-14 minutes.
