      Title: Breakfast Cake à la Sophia Thiel
 Categories: Cakes, Dairy
      Yield: 12 Servings
 
      1 c  White sugar
      2 tb Shortening
      1 ts Vanilla extract
      2 c  All-purpose flour
      1 ts Baking powder
      1 c  Milk
    1/4 c  Brown sugar
      1 ts Ground cinnamon
 
  Set oven @ 375ºF/190ºC.
  
  Lightly grease a 9" x 13" baking pan.
  
  In a large bowl, cream together sugar and shortening.
  Stir in vanilla. Sift together flour and baking powder.
  Stir flour into sugar mixture alternately with milk. Mix
  until smooth. Pour batter into prepared pan and sprinkle
  with brown sugar and cinnamon.
  
  Bake in preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into
  center of the pan comes out clean, about 35 to 45
  minutes.
