      Title: Harriet's Homemade Hush Puppies
 Categories: Breads
      Yield: 10 Servings
 
      2 c  Corn meal
    1/4 c  Flour
      1 lg Egg; beaten
      1 tb Sugar
           Fresh ground pepper
      2 c  Buttermilk
    1/2 c  Fine chopped onion
      1 tb Baking powder
      1 tb Salt
 
  Mix all ingredients in a bowl. Pour in hot water to
  make a thick mush. Shape as desired. Fry in deep fat
  until they float and are golden brown.
