If necessary, cut fish into 2 serving size pieces. In a small bowl combine basil, melted butter, garlic, salt, and black pepper. Brush mixture over both sides of halibut. Place fish on the unheated rack of broiler pan. Broil 4 inches from heat for 8 to 12 minutes or until fish flakes easily when tested with fork, turning once.
