MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06
 
      Title: Mary Ann's Cookies
 Categories: Cookies, Snacks, Herbs
      Yield: 24 servings
 
      1 c  White sugar
    1/4 c  Molasses
      1 ts Ground cinnamon
      1 c  Hot water
    3/4 c  Shortening
      5 c  All-purpose flour
      1 ts Ground ginger
      3 ts Baking soda
 
  Set oven @ 350ºF/175ºC.
  
  Cream sugar, shortening and molasses together. Mix the
  baking soda into the hot water. Add dry ingredients
  alternately with the water mixture.
  
  Drop from a spoon onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake for
  10 minutes. DO NOT BROWN. Frost with a vanilla frosting
  if desired.
