Subj : BH&G 2006 To : ALL From : DAVE DRUM Date : Fri Mar 05 2021 13:11:00 MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06 Title: Italian Grinder Dip Categories: Beef, Pork, Mushrooms, Herbs, Sauces Yield: 22 Servings 1 lb Ground beef 1 lb Bulk Italian sausage 1 c Chopped onion 3 cl Garlic; minced 3/4 c Chopped bell pepper 4 oz Can sliced mushrooms; - drained 1 ts Fennel seeds; crushed 1 ts Dried oregano; crushed 1 ts Dried basil; crushed 1/2 ts Crushed red pepper 15 oz Can pizza sauce Sliced garlic bread and/or - ciabatta bread; toasted Shredded mozzarella cheese In a large skillet, cook ground beef, sausage, onion, and garlic over medium-high heat until meat is brown, using a wooden spoon to break up meat as it cooks. Drain off fat. In a 3 1/2 or 4 quart slow cooker, combine meat mixture, sweet pepper, mushrooms, fennel seeds, oregano, basil, and crushed red pepper. Stir in pizza sauce. Cover and cook on low-heat setting for 4 to 5 hours or on high-heat setting for 2 to 2 1/2 hours. Serve on toasted bread; top with cheese.
