Subj : St. Mildred 05 To : All From : Dave Drum Date : Fri Feb 19 2021 15:56:00 MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06 Title: Mildred's Country Fried Steak Categories: Beef, Dairy, Sauces, Herbs Yield: 4 Servings 3 c Water 2 c Flour 2 1/4 ts Salt; divided 1/2 ts Black pepper; divided 4 (4 oz ea) cube steaks; - flattened MMMMM---------------------------GRAVY-------------------------------- 1 1/2 tb Ground beef 1/4 c Flour 2 c Chicken broth 2 c Milk 1/4 ts (ea) black pepper & salt Pour water into a medium bowl. Sift flour, 2 tsp. salt, and 1/4 tsp. black pepper together in medium bowl. Dip steaks in water, then in dry mixture. Repeat. Lay coated steaks on wax paper and freeze for about 3 hours. Deep fry steaks in 350ºF/175ºC oil for 8-10 minutes. Drain on paper towels. Brown ground beef in skillet. Stir in flour, chicken broth, milk, 1/4 tsp. black pepper and 1/4 tsp. salt.
