Subj : BH&G 1819 To : ALL From : DAVE DRUM Date : Sun Feb 14 2021 12:01:00 MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06 Title: Spiced Apple Drops Categories: Cookies, Desserts, Fruits, Nuts Yield: 6 Servings 1/2 c Butter; softened 2/3 c Granulated sugar 2/3 c Packed brown sugar 1 ts Ground cinnamon 1/2 ts Baking soda 1/2 ts Ground nutmeg 1/8 ts Ground cloves 1 lg Egg 1/4 c Apple juice or apple cider 2 c All-purpose flour 1 c Fine chopped, peeled apple 1 c Chopped walnuts MMMMM-----------------------APPLE FROSTING---------------------------- 4 c Sifted powdered sugar 1/4 c Softened butter 1 ts Vanilla 3 tb (to 4 tb) apple juice Set oven @ 375ºF/190ºC. Lightly grease cookie sheets; set aside. In a large mixing bowl beat butter with an electric mixer on medium speed for 30 seconds. Add granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, baking soda, nutmeg, and cloves. Beat until combined, scraping sides of bowl occasionally. Beat in egg and apple juice until combined. Beat in as much of the flour as you can with the mixer. Using a wooden spoon, stir in any remaining flour, the apple, and walnuts. Drop dough by rounded teaspoons 2 inches apart onto prepared cookie sheets. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until edges are light brown. Cool on cookie sheets for 1 minute. Transfer cookies to a wire rack; cool. Frost cookies with Apple Frosting. APPLE FROSTING: In a medium mixing bowl beat powdered sugar, butter, vanilla, and enough apple juice to make a frosting of spreading consistency. TO STORE: Layer unfrosted cookies between sheets of waxed paper in an airtight container; cover. Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
