Subj : BH&G 1804 To : ALL From : DAVE DRUM Date : Sat Feb 13 2021 12:48:00 MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06 Title: Tunisian Dried Fruit, Chicken & Bulgur Pilaf Categories: Fruits, Grains, Poultry, Vegetables, Nuts Yield: 6 Servings 2 ts Oil 1 1/4 lb Chicken; in bite-size - strips 1/2 c Coarse chopped onion 1 ts Garam masala 1 1/2 c Bulgur 1/2 md Lemon; seeded, thin sliced 3/4 c Pitted dried plums; - quartered 1/3 c Golden raisins 1/2 ts Ground ginger 1/2 ts Ground cinnamon 1/4 ts Ground allspice pn Cayenne pepper 14 1/2 oz Can chicken broth 1 1/4 c Water 1/3 c Coarse chopped or slivered - almonds; toasted * Fresh mint leaves; thin - sliced Fine shredded lemon peel In a large skillet heat oil over medium heat. Add chicken, onion, and garam masala; cook and stir until chicken is browned on all sides and onion is tender. In a 3 1/2 or 4 quart slow cooker combine the chicken mixture, bulgur, lemon slices, plums, raisins, ginger, cinnamon, allspice, and cayenne pepper. Pour broth and the water over mixture in cooker. Cover and cook on low-heat setting for 2 hours. Stir in almonds. To serve, sprinkle each serving with mint and lemon peel. * To toast nuts, Set oven @ 350ºF/175ºC. Spread nuts in a shallow baking pan. Bake for 5 to 10 minutes or until light brown, watching carefully and stirring once or twice.
