Yes, I tried Ubuntu on the rPi5 back in December, it wasn't tailored to
the Pi. Either the browser support or GPU support was broken, so I
switched to Pi OS. That might be fixed now, but there isn't much to be
gained by not using Pi OS.

I successfully configured the Pi OS desktop to use Gnome and look like
Ubuntu. It took a bit of messing around, but nothing too difficult.
