The judge ruled to "Withold removal"! > ICE ignored this order and deported him anyway.. How is this due process?! It is a clever way to claim that the defendent got their due process while the current authorities totally disregard the results of that due process. It is also a fantasy-land response that ignores that allowing authorities to ignore due process, court orders, etc., means that it can also happen to any of us... lefty, MAGA, moderate, Democrat, Republican, etc... at any time. Over time you will realize there are a lot of folks on fidonet that seems to understand the danger of setting bad legal precident, but only so long as it doesn't apply to something that someone they voted for is trying to do. If you try to apply it to "their" leader, they either cannot or refuse to comprehend the potential fallout. As an aside, those same folks will also have grave comprehension issues when it comes to understanding why parts of the Constitution are worded to protect "people" while others are specific to "citizens." To them, "people" only are people if they are "citizens." For example, as a citizen, it will never occur to them that they might one day need to depend on their right to due process in order to be able to prove they are a citizen. They believe their word will protect them. That belief, of course, will change should the person they voted for not be the one that takes office. Then they will spend the next 4 or so years contradicting whatever they said/claimed during the previous 4 or so years. * SLMR 2.1a * I got lost in thought, it was a very unfamiliar territory --- SBBSecho 3.20-Linux * Origin: Capitol City Test System (1:2320/107) .
