Companies set up shell companies all the time for various purposes.

I worked for a big retailer a while back.  They created several shell companies
to buy land for new stores because if wind got out that "big retailer was
buying land for a new store" the prices for the land would go way up.

I assume that all searches are biased and treat the results accordingly.
