I think I got the story wrong.. It's not that we need to double our electricity, but it's the AI data centers that need to double their electricity. So hopefully this won't affect us financially any time soon. But I strongly distrust the premise of "AI is to make our lives better." I strongly suspect that all the talk about it is to ease us into coming to terms with robot warfare. (Who cares if China is ahead of us in technology?
