That's because the child is ignorant.  He doesn't see dad going hungry in order
to feed the child.

What's expected is that as the child grows up, he will see and understand the
trade offs.  But our society is keeping people child-like longer and longer and
they can't see the trade offs.

"Don't cut down the trees!".  Tomorrow: "Why are all these wildfires
happening?"

"Everyone should use an EV".  Tomorrow: "Why is there still pollution?  And why
doesn't my car work in the winter?"

It's the usual Socialist problem.  Venesuela went through it.  China is having
that issue now, but they are hiding it well. As long as the Elitists have a
full belly and heat, they don't care about what happens to the plebes.
