That may have been true 50 years ago but now most women have jobs, and some
of them are supporting their ne'er do well men.

This was not true when I was in college (1988-93).  There *was* a group of
"professional students" who seemed to be equally made up of men and women.  I
don't know who was paying for them to attend (although I suspected it
started out as their parents), or whether or not they were even enrolled in
any classes.

I would say a bigger likelihood of extremism period, right or left.
