Won't the Democrats hold some sort >of fake primary to make their sheep feel like there's a democracy? No she doesn't necessarily. I have heard said that only she can legally inherit Joe's campaign funds because she was on the ticket with him, but I don't know if that is true. They will hold an "open convention," like they did in 1968. That year, LBJ dropped his re-election campain after winning the New Hampshire primary. He was shown in polls to be trailing in other states. Opposition to the Vietnam war was dragging him down. The delegates LBJ had up to that point went to his VP. RFK was running second in delegate count when he was assassinated a little over two months before the convention. Going into the convention, his delegates remained "unclaimed." So they went into their August convention in Chicago without a clear-cut nominee. The political machine of Chicago's mayor Daley ran the convention. There were riots outside (Vietnam and race-related -- MLK had also been assassinated earlier that year) as well as heated moments inside as some states had competing slates of delegates that wanted to be seated as the official state delegations. LBJ's VP, Hubert Humphrey, would ultimately be nominated. It will be interesting to see if any states this time around have competing slates. Since Biden stayed in until after the primaries were over, and he won, I doubt there will be but you never know. If Kamala is named, that will be interesting. Biden won the majority of delegates with her tagged on as VP but, in 2020, Kamala did not win *any* delegates when running on her own. In contrast, Tulsi Gabbard did win some delegates, and she also had no chance of being nominated in 2020. * SLMR 2.1a * "Mmmmmmmm.....bacon..." --- SBBSecho 3.20-Linux * Origin: capitolcityonline.net * Telnet/SSH:2022/HTTP (1:2320/105) .
