Bill Clinton was charged with getting a blow job from a White House
intern. But he went on camera and told the whole world -

"I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Ms. Lewsinski!"

The whole world believed him. Except for Hillary Clinton, who gave
him a black eye (and a broken nose) after his speech.

Nobody bothered viewing the evidence, which was on display. Not
really sure if Monica ever got her blue dress (with the stain) back.

More recently -

The Homeland Security guy was also charged with a crime. But nobody
could figure out what the crime was, so the charges were dismissed
witout a trial.

Let's say Donald Trump is convicted on all 91 criminal counts.
He will never spend a single day in jail/prison, knowing that he
will only be held in home confinement for whatever length of time
the judge decides.

As for impeachment/removal from office - those are political issues
rather than crimes. Except in the case of treason, in which the
Congress decides the penalty (which can include the gallows).
