It predates 2020. It was originally a term coined by "progressives" as a way to say "stay alert" to issues that affect marginalized and/or their own communities. "Conservatives" have used it, in turn, to point out persons who seem "over sensitive" and who seem over-consumed with things like identity politics to the point where they view *everything* in such terms. An example would be "The main reason that Hillary Clinton lost the 2016 election is sexism," an idea framed in identity politics that was circulated by some "woke" pundits after her election loss. The real main reason is that she campaigned to her supporters only and failed to build support among the independents and undecided voters. Trump repeated this same mistake during his 2020 campaign with messages that were targeted towards his existing base. $$ --- SBBSecho 3.20-Linux * Origin: capitolcityonline.net * Telnet/SSH:2022/HTTP (1:2320/105) .
