It's not just you noticing this... This means to and end thing has been going on for sometime now... The Democrats scorched earth policies are okay as long as they can get what they want.  

In today Chuck Schumer does not want to hold a Senate Trial for impeached Mayorkas.  Apparently it's written in the constitution that he doesn't need to hold one.
