I went through this with him a few weeks ago. He keeps spouting the same giant numbers (although he cut it in half, he started with 40 million), but won't say where he got those numbers from. 

There are roughly 45 million people in the USA that were not born here.   At least half, if not more, are not from Mexico, Central or South America. 

The percentage of foreign born persons in this country hasn't changed much in the last 20 years.  (around 14%}

The median age of foreign born persons in the United States is 47, 51% are women.   

Their median income is  $69,622, which is almost exactly the same as our national average as a whole. 14% live below the poverty line, as opposed to 13%.
