I am not sure if the quality or quantity went up for sure, but they
certainly had more platforms to express their desires, and the news outlets
gave them more air time than they have in recent elections past.

During the 2000 election, for example, there was no Facebook or Twitter.  I
don't even think there was a MySpace yet.  ;)  We only heard about it if
the TV news or newspapers reported it.
