The GOP is not helpful in NYC. They had a Republican candidate named Curtis Sliwa running against Eric Adams, and that was a careless mistake.

Sliwa sounds nice on the radio, but he doesn't speak to leftists, only to people who listen to his radio show (right-ists.) GOP candidates in liberal cities need to speak to the leftists using words they can understand and relate to (gay stuff, satanic stuff, foodstamp stuff.) Sliwa missed all of those opportunities. And he wears a red beret, which makes him look awkward. Leftists don't get the red beret.

And he was up against bald black guy. Bald black guy gets more votes in NYC based on looks alone. Nobody know what the red beret is about, and nobody cares. They just want to hear magical words like "less jail" and "less prosecution" and "more free stuff."
