Agreed.

Also agreed.  Some as a distraction from other things, some to make money,
and some for still other purposes I am sure.

As an aside, I have read some accounts of American citizens who tried to
work through our embassy in order to get out safely but who found the
embassy to be less than cooperative.  Reminds me of the stories of similar
issues during the Afghan withdrawl.
