I haven't had a long enough commute for the last couple of decades to really
listen to talk radio.  So I'm not sure what it's like in my area anymore. 

I know that Liberal Talk Radio was a flop because most people who listened to
talk radio were people driving to some job.  *grin*

But the business model for anything broadcast is based on ears/eyeballs.  No
listeners, no advertisers, no income.  And with the economy getting bad, the
number of listeners and advertisers is going down.  So I keep wondering how
some of these stations stay in business.  The only thing that comes to mind is
that someone is basically propping them up financially.

We do that too.  But I long set up a system where I can listen to my music (not
streamed from magic cloud) anywhere at anytime.

I even did a cool project of modifying an old wood-case radio into something
that played my music.  I set up the Band knob to switch between genres.
