Subj : GARLAND IMPEACHMENT To : IB Joe From : Lee Lofaso Date : Sun Jul 02 2023 10:20:57 Hello Joe, IJ>>> What did Mr. Santos do, after he was sworn into office, that I'm IJ> unaw IJ>>> of... ?? LL>> He plead "not guilty" to 13 criminal counts this morning. LL>> I'll spare you the details. IJ> In America you have a trial where the allegations have to be proven... In IJ> America you are INNOCENT until proven otherwise in court. The man has already publicly admitted that he lied in order to get elected into office. That itself should be enough for him to resign from office. But he adamantly refuses to do so, even though he is guilty as sin (of all counts charged) as well as being a bona fide liar. Speaker McCarthy refuses to call for his expulsion from the House, and no effort has even been made to censure him. The man is a total disgrace - to himself, his constituents, and to this entire country. Oh, he has the right to defend himself in court. But the judge and jury in that court will not be Speaker McCarthy and his MAGA nutjobs, but real Americans who will render justice. Santos claims he will run for re-election. His upcoming trial might not be until after the election, not that it matters. He is bound to lose, given all the negative publicity he has had due to his own actions. The constituents in his district deserve better, and Santos knows it. But he doesn't care. And neither does Speaker McCarthy and his group of MAGA nutjobs. All they are interested in is power. Power to do whatever they want, whenever they want, however they want. Total unchecked power. IJ> BTW, I just looked... actually just looked at the constitution and there is IJ> not clause about having to step down if you lied of had criminal IJ> allegations levied against you. Politicians never lie - they are just more expedient with the truth. There is nothing in the US Constitution in regards to who the House has the right to expel from its chambers. No reason at all need be given. If the House wants to expel Santos, it has every right to do so. With, or without reason. George Santos should man up and resign from office. But he won't. And Speaker McCarthy won't make him, because he needs his vote. So the people (regardless of political affiliation) in Santos' district are stuck with having a creep in office that they detest. How sad. IJ> BTW, again... Trump may get re-elected in 2024 and have an ankle monitor IJ> on... No worries. Biden will whip his ass. Again. Worse than last time. Assuming the orange clown gets his party's nomination. IJ> maybe even have to see his probation officer once a week.... Like I said, nothing to worry about. Everything is under control. IJ> BECAUSE there is NO clause stopping ANY person running for and winning... IJ> that has a criminal past. Eugene Debs tried it while behind bars. But voters chose someboty else. Lyndon Larouche also tried it. But not many folks even noticed. IJ> The constitution says that people who ware impeached cannot run for office IJ> though.... Where does it say that?
