They preached don't gather in crowds and, if you do, wear masks but then showed up at the, erm, peaceful protests to shake hands and stand in crowds for photo ops without masks. Before that, when you would go out, it seemed like just about everyone had a mask on. After that, even though they were still telling the rest of us to wear them, few were unless you were somewhere that flat out required them (like a Dr. office). I thought maybe the liquor store thing was unique here because, you know, we have a large bourbon industry here. The big boxes were supposed to keep a head count and only let X number of people in at a time. I saw WalMart do that, but I don't think the groceries did it. IMHO, a mom and pop would be a lot more likely to be able to keep an accurate head count because they are usually smaller. Some said their square footage was why they couldn't be open because of adequate social distancing, but a lot of our liquor stores are holes in the wall and they were open. Nonsense. RL> Oh, and the big box stores weren't allowed to sell planting/landscaping RL> materials because.... No answer. RL> Yet another indication of the scam. That is the thing I heard about from relatives in Michigan. That was stupid. I saw part of an interview with the governor where she said that people were more likely to socialize in those areas (???) than other areas of the stores, and that it wasn't "gardening season" anyway, even though it was indeed the time of year that people would be planting and mulching things. It really made her sound out of touch with "normal" people. I guess if you grow up rich so you can pay for landscapers and never do any planting yourself, it made sense? Here our governor was encouraging people to go outside, so long as they didn't hang out in crowds (the Summer 2020 folks were exempted, as I pointed out). He encouraged fresh air and exercise. If it hadn't been for the different treatment of the riot... er, peaceful protesters vs. everyone else, I would say he did a very good job. As is, I would say he did a better job than a lot of other governors (which compared to yours or Cuomo says little). ....
