You are right it makes no difference to Aaron, but it also really makes no
difference to a trans person.  At worst, it will hurt their feelings if you
accidentally call them the wrong one, which is not going to kill them.

On the other hand, being misidentified as being something other than what
you were biologically born as can lead to some issues when it comes to
receiving the proper medical care if you are not conscious.  Some
medications and treatments are only meant for persons who were born male (or
female).  I would be more worried about that than whether or not my feelings
got hurt.
