In what way are BBSs vulnerabilities?

That's not how FIDO networks work. There are standards to which everyone is
expected to conform, but it is not an authoritarian organization.

You don't have to leave; just find a way to conform to the standards. There
are plenty of BBSs available (you could even start your own).
